Andrea Rees is a Chartered Physiotherapist with 19 years’ experience. She has held a number of NHS roles at senior level, and completed an MACP course in Neuromusculoskeletal Dysfunction. She regularly attends professional development courses with world leaders in physiotherapy, including spinal manual therapy, shoulder pain and running injuries.
A physiotherapy assessment with Andrea is in-depth and holistic, seeking the root cause of the problem. You will gain an open and honest insight into the cause of pain, and a structured programme to help you overcome it. Most painful conditions, from sports injuries to back pain respond well to a progressive exercise program, which improve the body’s ability to cope with the
demands placed upon it. This may be combined with other physiotherapy treatments, such as soft tissue massage, Pilates, joint mobilisation, nerve mobilisation, taping, lifestyle advice, and acupuncture for pain relief.
Andrea is experienced in treating persistent, chronic pain, using recent pain science, education and a gradual return to activity for people with ongoing pain. Andrea also specialises in treating running injuries such as tendon pain, knee, hip
and foot pain, which can be due to running style or training errors. Assessment includes video running analysis. Strength and conditioning is a key component in treating or preventing running injuries and an individualised programme of exercises is of benefit to most runners.
Andrea ensures she keeps up to date with the latest research to provide evidence-based assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
In her spare time, Andrea enjoys trail running, skiing, yoga and hiking. She joined the Healthy Balance team in 2016.
