How are my notes kept?

Your privacy is extremely important. Healthy Balance Clinics Ltd. is committed to respecting your privacy and upholding the security of your personal information so you can feel confident when interacting with our clinic. All our patients' medical notes are kept in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR as required by the Care Quality Commission. In addition to these stringent procedures we do not share your personal or medical information with ANY third party (except with your explicit consent). All administrative and associate staff members are bound by law not to disclose any patient information outside the clinic and only discuss your treatment with another practitioner with your consent. No copy of printed notes are allowed to be taken off the premises+ (except those in transit with the NHS) and all our patient notes are stored on an encrypted computer system. In accordance with the GDPR, no personal data is held in any country outside the EU. Our cloud back up provider does not host their server outside the EU. We are only able to release your medical notes with your explicit permission. In most circumstances you will be required to provide additional proof of identity to enable us to do this. If you would like a copy of your investigation or test results please let us know as they will not automatically be sent to you. 

+Please note that if you have seen any Healthy Balance associate your medical notes will remain in our system. Any room rental clients at Healthy Balance are responsible for their own note keeping and maintenance and these include but are not limited to London Allergy Doctors, The British CBT and Counselling Service, The ISAC Clinic and the NHS. Please do not hesitate to ask if you would like clarification about who is responsible for your note keeping when you are visiting a specific practitioner at Healthy Balance. Notes written by a practitioner at any other site where they may work, are not protected by our CQC and data protection safeguards. 

All staff at Healthy Balance observe a young people and vulnerable adults policy in line with CQC requirements and in line with these legalities, some of our staff and practitioners are mandatory reporters. This means that they are required by law to notify specific authorities with regard to particular safe guarding issues. Also, in line with GMC legislation, private GPs and consultants are obligated to restrict availability of prescription analgesics and other addictive medications and may be obligated to make further enquiries with pharmacies or other record holders in order to protect patients from harm.

Will my practitioner automatically tell my NHS GP that I have been to Healthy Balance?

Your medical records are held securely and privately at Healthy Balance, these will not be released unless you request us to. Our GPs can co-ordinate your care with your NHS GP or any other consultant but will only do so if you would like them to.

Are Healthy Balance practitioners 'police checked'?

 

At Healthy Balance all medical practitioners are DBS checked (police/CRB checked) and this extends to are all administrative staff.

Will I need to remove articles of clothing at my appointment?

It is possible that the doctor or other clinician at your appointment will ask you to remove some articles of clothing in order to examine you effectively. We suggest wearing undergarments that you will feel least self conscious in. If this is concerning for you, please ring to discuss the requirements of your practitioner and the possibility of being offered a gown or other solutions. Please also see our Chaperone Policy.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Is Healthy Balance independent?

Healthy Balance is 100% independently owned and operated.  It is a privately owned business and has no ties to multi-national interest, to the health insurance industry or to any 'big pharma' interests.

We do not have an enormous board of share holders to pay, and benefit from the freedom

of not having to answer to the interests of numerous directors and investors.

This leads our decisions to be steered by people, who put health outcomes before profit. 

All profits are currently reinvested directly back into patient facilities and services. 

We choose with exceptional care, any consultant, practitioner or service

that we refer to and expect nothing in return from them other than

Does Healthy Balance pay tax in the UK?

 

Healthy Balance pays all of its tax 'on shore' to the British government

where it can be fed directly back into the interests of the UK economy.

Healthy Balance is registered with Companies House in England and Wales .

When I pay privately for services at Healthy Balance,

does it take funding away from my NHS GP?

Everyone is entitled to NHS treatment. However, if you choose to

'go private' at Healthy Balance or Family First GP, this will not affect your registration with or remove funding from any NHS service that you are otherwise registered with. When Healthy Balance

pays tax to the British government it benefits the UK economy including the NHS.

Will NHS patients be encouraged to see private consultants at Healthy Balance?

The reason why we have NHS clinics running from Healthy Balance is so that we can bring services to the local community that may otherwise be unavailable to the area via the NHS. NHS clients are very welcome to use and pay for any private service that they like and private patients are welcome to use any NHS service that they like! We do not put any pressure on any patient or potential patient to use any service whatsoever. Staff are very happy to assist in the practicalities of making appointments wherever we can and can provide recommendations of practitioners and services if you would like us to.

Who is the NHS that visits Healthy Balance Mediclinic?


The NHS hospital trust which runs services from our building, delivers a genuine NHS service to patients, and its consultants are on the government payroll. This is not a service that the NHS has simply contracted out to a private, potentially international company. In fact, it is a local community clinic provided to our area which otherwise may not benefit from these services. 

 

Does Healthy Balance save credit card details?

No. never. Your credit card details are not stored on our servers or payment machines. Your credit card information goes directly from the credit card terminal to our payment service provider at the time of payment.

 

Why don't we advertise more?

 

We very rarely advertise unless we think that an important demographic of people may be missing out on our effective help. We love that our patients spread the word about how happy they have been with services they have received and it makes us so happy to know that they get behind the important work of our practitioners by their recommendation.
