NHS treatment at a private medical clinic.
In partnership with the NHS, Healthy Balance is an NHS Community Site, which means that as a NHS patient you are able to enjoy the convenience and experience of a private clinic for some services (see below).
You do not have to live locally to choose Healthy Balance for your preferred treatment site. You are entitled to elect where you have treatment using eReferral (Choose and Book) when referred via your GP. Your GP can talk you through the appropriate options of care for your medical condition. NHS Patients (both children and adults) are very welcome to have their selected treatments at Healthy Balance when referred via their GP to use the following medical services:
• General Dermatology
• See and Treat/The Lesion Clinic (maximum two week wait for lesions which need to be looked at urgently)
Medical Allergy Testing
Specialist Dietitian Clinic (Food Allergy).
There is no fee for these services when using the NHS e-Referral system.
All dermatology and allergy services are also available privately at Healthy Balance. You do not necessarily need a GP referral to access them unless you are using medical insurance to pay. For more information, please phone and our staff will be delighted to talk you through your options | 01494 867272
What is the NHS e-Referral Service?
The NHS e-Referral Service (formerly called Choose and Book) combines electronic booking with a choice of place, date and time for first hospital or clinic appointments. When being referred to a specialist by their NHS GP, patients can choose where and when to have their initial hospital or clinic appointment. Patients can book it in whilst in the GP surgery at the point of referral, or later at home by phone or online*. Please note: Your consultant may vary when using the NHS.
How do I organise to have my NHS treatment at Healthy Balance?
With your GP: When your GP decides that you need to see a consultant for one of the above services, you can ask them to choose for your appointment to take place at Healthy Balance by booking through the NHS e-Referral system on their computer, usually whilst you are still at the GP practice
Online: Alternatively, you can book online using your Unique Booking Reference Number (UBRN), which is given to you at the GP surgery and will be on your Appointment Request Letter. You can then go to the e-Referral website yourself and book the appointment using your UBRN. Look also for your PIN and NHS number on the same letter as you may need these
To login using a UBRN go to e-Referral login link use: https://www.ebs.ncrs.nhs.uk
By Phone: It is also possible to book by phone using your UBRN. Call: 03456 088 888. (Monday-Friday, 8am to 8pm and Weekends 8am to 4pm). You will need your PIN, UBRN and NHS number which are all detailed on your Appointment Request Letter
How do I cancel an appointment made via the e-Referral service?
In the unlikely event that you need to cancel or change an appointment, please telephone the NHS e-Referral Appointments Line:
03456 088 888 giving as much advance notice as possible and quote your UBRN, PIN and NHS number.
